The Writers Words: The End Of Earth, Part 1

Introducing a new feature exclusive to this site, after each episode has been posted on DWO come back here for my views of how the episode was wrote. In a new feature called The Writers Words.

The End Of Earth has now been posted so here are my thoughts during the writing of this episode.

The first draft of The End Of Earth was written in November 2009. Around the time after A New Face In Bannerman Road had been posted. The first episode introduced a new character Kyle. I soon came up with a idea for a story arch involving Kyle.
Throughout the series there had been small references to the final I put in, Such as the Trickster visiting Kyle at the end of The Time Portal.
The first draft began with the scene of the Trickster in Kyle's room forcing him to put on the detonator. This is the only main scene I kept in the final draft. In March 2010 the beginning of March I was making final edits to the script I included a new scene at the beginning with a mysterious woman telling Kyle of the danger he was in.
Other changes happened such as the Bannerman Road scene at the end. With the Kyle plot I was beginning to think after reading that maybe I had took Kyle's death too far with him being involved in a car accident. I began to worry about it being to horrible. When I launched the review though I had no complaints and kept the plot.

The first draft began NOVEMBER 2009, With the final draft early MARCH 2010. This script has took a long time to write and I am proud of it.
